Paris-based SAMKA GROUP, announces it has hired industry veteran Tramm Wigzell as its newly created global head of content.The appointment marks a significant step for SAMKA GROUP, led by CEO Samuel Kaminka, and a commitment to the consolidation - and long term growth - of its global content offer, including projects for the US market.
Tramm joins SAMKA GROUP from Cartoon Network, where as SVP he oversaw the development of - and functions for - all of the network’s original productions, series, movies and shorts.
SAMKA GROUP, headquartered in Paris, operates a number of content, production and distribution businesses across EMEA including Paris-based animation studio SAMKA and live action fiction studio KAM&KA, Tel Aviv based live action fiction and factual documentary production company SKLAN&KA, Milan-based live action fiction and animation studio GOOD KARMA, London based kids and family distribution business JETPACK DISTRIBUTION, and Angoulême based 2D animation service provider studio UNIQUE ANIMATION.
As head of content, Tramm will direct all developments for SAMKA, SKLAN&KA, GOOD KARMA and JETPACK DISTRIBUTION and will initiate projects in the USA. Working alongside each company's leadership team, he will head up a portfolio of animated and live action series ranging from preschool to teen and young adult fiction.
He will be based in Los Angeles and report directly to SAMKA Group CEO Samuel Kaminka.
SAMKA GROUP is currently working on more than twenty projects in various stages of development and production.
Tramm brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge, having led the development of a number of global animated hits including Ben 10, Summer Camp Island, Infinity Train, Victor and Valentino, Mao Mao, Heroes of Pure Heart and Apple & Onion.
