Emily (18), a gifted and determined break dancer from a rough neighbourhood, is accepted into an Olympic training camp and dreams of a gold medal. Whilst fighting to secure her spot on the team, a difficult life at home pulls her back in and jeopardises her dream.
Seven years ago (2038), Ark I, was launched to Mars to establish the "Sun Tower" – a thermo-solar power station, which resembles a lighthouse. The purpose of the station was to hook up Mars to an electric grid (using sunlight), so that colonialization of the planet could finally begin. The mission was cut short when all the astronauts became mysteriously ill and the mission commander, Ruth, decided to return to planet Earth earlier than planned. However, on the day they were scheduled to take off, a lethal dust storm broke out in the area where the space station was located and the commander, Ruth, was killed. This is the official story at least. It is, however, a malicious lie, as our heroes, the crew of Ark II, are about to discover.
